One thing that my husband and I share is our love of travel, though he can tend to be more of an explorer who enjoys a good campsite while I prefer room service and poolside cabanas, lol.
We initially planned our honeymoon for Brazil, unknowing that it was wintertime during our summer. It probably still wouldn't have been too cold in Brazil, but coming from Miami, we wanted to keep our honeymoon hot.
We debated for WEEKS about where to go and finally, we decided to pick our top 5 destinations and drop them in a hat to pick our destination. We decided on Cabo, Mexico, which was super fun and definitely HOT!
Cabo reminds me a lot of Bedrock if you've ever seen The Flintstones. There are a lot of rocks and stones, lol. Huge, gorgeous red colored mountains divide the highway surrounded by deep, gem colored blue waters. We went during a low tourist season which was great because we got to interact with the local people in a more genuine way.
We stayed at the JW Marriott in Los Cabos San Jose, which is about 30 minutes from Cabo San Lucas. We rented a car while we were there (about $20 a day!) which was great for getting around. A must see while in Cabo is the Art District, it's so super cute! It's filled with cute little restaurants, live music on the streets, good coffee, and galleries.
We explored Lovers Beach, which was so fun! The water there is swimmable but the waves still come up pretty high and strong. I can't swim and was fine, but the current will definitely drag you in if you're not careful. There were a few dolphin sightings out there and I was told you can see the whales migrate from there in the winter months.
We ate at this place called SCABO twice, it was so good! Probably some of the best guac I've ever had and the manager, Jerry is so nice and helpful!
